Ecomúsculo: from Excel to the cloud in 5–6 weeks
Schedule, patients, session packages and collections in one system, with appointment reminders on WhatsApp.
The leak
The schedule was kept by hand and every patient's history lived in Excel. Appointments clashed, nobody could see free slots at a glance, moving a patient was a headache, and session packages ended in arguments about how many were left. No one reminded the patients who missed their appointments.
What we built
- One schedule for therapy, consultations and procedures that blocks clashing appointments.
- The patient base migrated from Excel, searchable by name, ID or phone.
- Session packages with sessions used and remaining, plus re-evaluation alerts.
- Partial payments, receipts and a traffic-light view of what each patient owes.
- A WhatsApp reminder the day before each appointment, with confirm and reschedule buttons that feed a list for reception.
- Reports on revenue, occupancy and no-shows, and role-based access.

How we built it
A serverless API on AWS Lambda behind Amazon API Gateway, with Amazon DynamoDB as the database and Amazon S3 for receipts. A job scheduled with Amazon EventBridge sends the reminders through the WhatsApp API, and patients' replies update the schedule.
